We make sounds.

From coffee shops to concert halls we aim to connect with our audience. We flow between eras and genres when crafting our programs in order to curate a more meaningful emotional experience.

We inspire.

K-12

We have presented K-12 educational outreach throughout the United States. Our programs provide an introduction to contemporary music through our saxophone quartet medium, engaging the students to listen critically and extract stories from unfamiliar sounds using level appropriate language. We also explore the interpersonal non-verbal communication we have to use in a chamber music ensemble. In middle school/high school settings we coach young chamber groups, individuals, and sections.

Collegiate

In the collegiate setting, Aruna offers workshops for chamber groups, emerging composers and saxophonists. In working with performers we aim to draw out greater musical expression in the moment, but we also hope to provide practical rehearsal strategies for long term success. We work with young composers in workshops that show the range of available sounds on our instrument and provide immediate feedback on saxophone quartet compositions.

We create.

Meeting new people from all over the world has been one of the most important parts of what we do and sharing the stage with these new friends has led us to some of our most memorable performances. We seek to connect with composers, artists, lecturers and storytellers from all backgrounds and communities. By creating new art together, we interact with experiences outside of our own and bring new voices into our community.
